Happy International Women's Day!
This International Women's Day, the Gianni Gromo Foundation celebrates the extraordinary women who embody our mission to transform global healthcare.
We would like to thank our all-women board (Paola Giuliani, Giulia Gromo Martina Gromo giuliana palo Wendy Olum Roth), and the inspiring women we are privileged to collaborate with like Sandra Bomett, our local coordinator in Kenya.
We also want to shout out Hellen Nkuraiya, founder of the Ekiteng Lepa School, a remarkable institution empowering Kenyan women daily. Hellen's “Don’t Exchange Girls for Cows, Give Them Education” campaign has been revolutionary in the region.
Last but not least, our Health and Education Project provides scholarships and comprehensive support especially to young Kenyan women pursuing healthcare degrees, enhancing their futures and the well-being of their communities.
Educating women is a powerful catalyst for societal development. As noted by economist Lawrence Summers, “investment in the education of girls may well be the highest-return investment available in the developing world.”
Guided by our vision of a world where high-quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege, we are committed to empowering communities to take control of their health and well-being. It begins with women.
From women, for women - today and every day. Happy International Women’s Day!
